Recipe is an art, in which,
the Chief, how to create new food, through Mixing and decorating with spices
and vegetables, this attractive way is tends to be eat. Now a day Food & Restaurant
is a big industry across the world, and highly paid profession.
I tried to review some recipe
programs broadcasted on Television like Jordana
Kitchen, Chief- Yohannes and Ethiopian Chief Computation on EBS TV, Koyita kemahider gar on Addis TV. From international media I have
been an opportunity to show the BBC & CNN recipe programs. In addition to
this, I observe different restaurants in Addis. For instance, Tsege Shiro around
Bole, Chane migib bet- Kazainches and Efoye Pizza around Atlas Hotel and other.
All
mentioned restaurant and TV shows do have their own distinctive features, but
for this article I would like to specifically concerned on chief Yohannes show and Chane restaurant. Because both are trying to create a unique foods
from what we already are known.
The Chief Yohannes show has unique even if other shows which broadcasted on EBS
TV. The program starts buying different fruits &vegetables from markets as
an introduction. Yohannes (The chief)
tried to create different foods based on our cultural food mixed with other ingredients.
For instance, he prepared food on the desert, if someone on the tour or vacations
how could it make food easily with accessible and easily available materials. In
addition, due to preparing food the Chief trying to visit restaurantsaround
Addis to share experience. So this show differ from others the broadcast has
not limited on studio rather it discover different places with specific food preparation
and try to harmonized with his creativity.
Tadias Addis is the renowned radio
show on 102.1 Sheger radio every day except Thursday. There are many programs
send to the audiences in those days. Among the shows Recipe is one of the
shows. The program host by Siefu with Chief Yonas, this also has itsown uniqueness.
Depending on the market, which vegetable is the cheapest, regarding to this,
they try to suggest for their listener to prepare food in low budget. Beside
this it gives information about the restaurant, which has delicious food with great
preparation & services and the new open in the city.
On the other hand, as we know there
are a lot of restaurant in Addis , they vary in terms of place(Bole , Arada,
Sar Bet,...), type(traditional or international), Standard and the like.
According to my topic, i am addressed the food (recipe) shows on the above, the
next point is about the restaurant. So i would like to review the "Chane Migib Bet"(Chane Restaurant).It
locate around Kazainches, in front of Intercontinental Hotel. The owner and
Chief of the restaurant is Mr. Chane who is one of the Imperial Majesty food
makers / Chief in previous time. I tried to investigate the unique character of
the house. There is limit numbers of food, but it is delicious and their own ingredient
.Tayitu, Menilik (it's like 'Doro Wot' ,but differenttaste from that we
know ), & Sora('ye beg wot=) are the most popular foods. He used
variousspices as an ingredient to give more taste. Moreover there is no
limitation on the sose and it has not
variety of food in one like 'Mahiberawi' and 'Beyaynetu' because,
the chief, Mr. Chane, belive "one
food for one apeitite".
This is what i observe from
different Media and Places. But one thing that i like to describe specially on
the restaurant is, it is a good beginning of this industry according to their
service, there is a lack service giving in most restaurants. Service the first step
to serve the customer. So those houses could be managing their services
properly.
